Hi! I am Yi Gong.
I graduated and got my master of architecture in 2020. I've always been fascinated by all kinds of designs, and how it can be used to solve real-world problems. Switching from architecture design to UX design really made sense for me because both fields are so similar in their skills and interests.
What I really got a chance to touch upon UX design is, after my graduate in architecture school, I had the unique opportunity to co-design and develop software with a team of programmers. It's called Smart Entry System, it is a smart community access control management system. In this project, I was responsible for UX design, advertising design, and other graphic design tasks. This experience also sparked my passion for UX, as I found the process of making technology both usable and enjoyable really interesting. I see UX design as a bridge that connects art, high technology, and people's everyday lives. and switching from architecture design to UX design really made sense for me because both fields are so similar in their skills and interests.
